I was very dissapointed in the Tour of Long Beach. There were no coned areas, no event safety noted at any intersections. You had to look for random signs and a lot of the way was not on a specific bike lane. The river bed around Eldorado was completely unsafe. Inexperienced riders that knew nothing about the "rules of riding." It was like the ride of death with people stopping on the inclines to walk their bike 25 ft, with 10 people behind them going 18 miles an hour. All intersections were not guarded or watched in any way..."cross with caution!!" The dirt horse trail at the end of the river bed could be a major catastrophy for any road bike, not to mention the dirt finish at Alfredo's. The unmarked area to get off at the LA river bed into Bixby Knoll's was ridiculous!!

All I have to say....why is LB paying a pro cyclist to make LB bike friendly if he can't give his two cents worth to make it a safe and great ride.

What a waste!!!!
