As a member of the Caltrans District 7 Bicycling Advisory Committee, I can tell you that we would use a standard, approved signs. Better still is to have sharrows on the road if the desire is to convey the message that bicyclists are full and equal road users. Signs are often missed by motorists, sharows in the center of such narrwo lane are nearly impossible to miss. When will we see these signs in Long Beach? Never.
