Where are good locations for signs like these?

Probably cheaper than 300 buckets of green paint.

When will we see these signs in Long Beach? Never. These non-standard (untested and non-approved) signs are the result of a City Council and local advocates playing at traffic engineering, and Caltrans District 5 allowing this to happen. As a member of the Caltrans District 7 Bicycling Advisory Committee, I can tell you that we would use a standard, approved signs. Better still is to have sharrows on the road if the desire is to convey the message that bicyclists are full and equal road users. Signs are often missed by motorists, sharows in the center of such narrwo lane are nearly impossible to miss.
