Great Western Bicycle Rally

If you’ve never been to the Great Western Bicycle Rally, you’ve been missing out! GWBR has been described as “like going to church, but the religion is bicycling”.

This is an annual event that has taken place in Paso Robles for 45 years. Unlike other biking events, you stay in one place and are invited to participate in 25 organized rides taking place over a long weekend. They have presentations from bicycling world travelers, a swap meet, a pretty bike contest, and a Huffy Toss – not to mention the comaraderie of fellow cyclists.

A small contingent of the Long Beach Cyclists participated last year, and we’ll all be going back this year! We will be discussing transportation plans at the March and April General Meetings.

Russ Roca put together a great slide show from last year.
