We recently got an email from LAAG (Lakewood Accountability Action Group) regarding the San Gabriel River trail. As posted earlier, there was a lot of discussion about safety on both the LA and San Gabriel river trail at the Minnie Grant meeting. There was a demand for more patrolling, cleaning up of refuse and more access points. Unfortunately, the trails span different cities and different departments within cities so it is unclear as to what organization should be held accountable for the trails.
LAAG emailed us with a list of links of various bike news and resources regarding the SG river trail. A quick perusal of the communiques between LAAG and various city entities reflect the challenges of patrolling the trails and trying to find an agency to be held accountable.
