Our Mission:
Long Beach Cyclists promote cycling as a fun, valued and sustainable transportation choice in Long Beach through community, advocacy and education.
Who we are:
Our members come from a diverse range of cycling backgrounds from utilitarian cycling, bicycle touring, racing, randonneuring to recreational riding. We welcome anyone who has an interest in improving the conditions for cyclists in Long Beach.
What we do:
We feel that to create a positive change it has to come from the ground-up and top-down.
Bicycling is fun. We want to spread that fun with an active social group and support network for new and experienced cyclists. We’ll be organizing rides, BBQs and other events this summer to bring Long Beach’s cycling community closer together.
We also feel that change must occur in city hall. Long Beach Cyclists has members that have been active in bicycle advocacy on the state and national level. The Long Beach Cyclists were also instrumental in getting the city of Long Beach to draft its current Bicycle Master Plan.
